The first step in creating a new lesson is to specify the course name under which the lesson will be created (see below). Click on the down arrow on the edit box and select a course from the list by clicking on it. Click the Next button to continue to step two.

Step two requires you to name the lesson. Keep in mind that lessons are displayed alphabetically so a series of lessons should be named so that they fall in the desired alphabetical order. For example, Lesson 01, Lesson 02 and Lesson 03 all the way up to Lesson 20 will appear in alphabetical order. If you omit a "0", Lesson 10 will appear between Lesson 1 and Lesson 2 because the list is sorted alphabetically.

All the words in the lesson are entered in step three. Press Enter after each word is typed to move to the next line in the word list.

Next, add sentences and definitions for each word in the lesson. Sentences are recommended. Definitions are purely optional. Use the database navigator to move between the words.

Finally, select the graphical background image and choose colors for the fonts that will be visible over the background graphic.

After a lesson is entered with the New Lesson Wizard, you may want to listen to the words and sentences using the Words Edit Window. Sometimes Microsoft Agent Technology pronounces words better when they are accompanied by a period or exclamation point. Click here for more details.
